Clusters of pale, bluebell-like flowers dangle above sage-green, fuzzy, upward pointed leaves. Also known as knit-bone for its medicinal use in poultices, the leaves are also used as an herbal tea. Permaculture gardeners advocate its use as a “chop and drop” soil amendment and its soaked leaves for making an excellent liquid fertilizer. Make a permanent planting with enough space for this extremely useful plant.
