Best grown in organically rich acidic soils, Wintergreen is a ground cover perennial in the St. Louis region that is commonly grown indoors. Best grown in part to full shade. When established, plants can tolerate moderately dry soils. This holiday ground cover is known for its glossy green leaves and small white flowers that give way to vibrant round red berry fruits. Both leaves and berries are edible and are commonly steeped in teas during the holiday season.
