Shibori Dyeing Workshop

10:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Taught by Anne Berman

Shibori is a Japanese dyeing technique that involves folding, twisting, binding, or bunching cloth and dyeing it with indigo.  Each student will receive two yards of fabric to dye- that can be made into napkins, a table runner, tea towels or a pillow cover … the possibilities are endless! You will be able to allow your creativity to flow to produce a one of a kind product. This workshop involves the use of indigo dye and is held outside, please dress in clothing and shoes that may be stained. Workshop is limited to 6 participants. This class will meet inside of Bowood and walk over to the field together 5 minutes before class begins.

Our first priority is maintaining a safe environment for our students and instructors. The following steps will be taken:

  • The Studio surfaces and supplies will be disinfected before and after every workshop.
  • Our student count will be lower to ensure every student has their own workspace.
  • All students and instructors will be required to wear a mask.
  • Students will be asked to fill out a health waiver prior to the class.
  • If you are not feeling well and need to cancel prior to class, please reach out to Anne Berman at 314-454-6868 or events@bowoodfarms.com.
